Founder LaTasha Moore began the company in 2018 on a whim. She had just been laid off from her job as a high school Spanish teacher, and she was at home awaiting the arrival of her first child. One day she got the God-given idea to post of Facebook that she would teach/tutor Spanish.
Although she was initially hesitant, she went to Canva, made the very unattractive flyer that you see here, and posted it on her Facebook page. By the end of the day the post had 100 likes and 40 shares. This made her realize that there was a need for Spanish education in her area.
In 2019 LaTasha started taking things more seriously and registered the business as an LLC. The company logo was officially established, and she began finding creative ways to promote and expand her business.
2020 was a big year for the company. LaTasha won several awards, and, as a result, the interest in Spanish lessons grew. Toward the end of the year she realized that she could no longer be a "solopreneur." She needed help. '
She began the hiring process in Winter 2020 and by January 2021 she started with a staff of 4 teachers.
Today Tasha Teaches Spanish has a staff of 7 teachers and 1 document translator.
Tasha primarily serves in an administrative role in which she manages the team, develops partnerships with outside organizations, manages social media pages, and creates and executes new programs and events.
